Freeze frame. A child’s anxiety and disbelief are digitally registered and trapped on a TV screen, a “micro-gesture” extracted from the general state of social tension and crisis depicted in Wall’s epic Eviction Struggle.

“Wall’s images reflect a reality which surrounds us, but which we do not necessarily want to face: racism, solitude, exploitation, poverty, the difficulty of relations between the sexes. Though anonymous, his characters are a part of each one of us.” Béatrice Parent Parkett No. 22, 1988
