A Small Museum and a Large Library of Contemporary Art
A SMALL MUSEUM AND A LARGE LIBRARY OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the website of the Parkett Series with contemporary artists. Since 1984 some one hundred artists have embarked on the adventure of a Parkett Collaboration and many more authors have contributed texts for the close to sixty issues to date. These preview pages give you a first glimpse at both the Parkett Library (some one thousand articles) and at the Parkett Museum (some one hundred Artists' Editions).
The artists assembled here have all been extensively featured in monographic texts and as part of their Collaboration they have created original signed and numbered editions in the form of prints, multiples, photographs and other works.
Unlike other contemporary art publications, Parkett maintains as its foremost priority the profound and timely tracing of artistic creativity, placing less emphasis on the speed of actuality, and concentrating instead on the quality of its inquiry both in terms of its design as well as its content. Parkett is neither an art journal nor an art magazine. It is a collectors item cherished not only by art lovers but also by many artists and the worlds leading museums and galleries, who all subscribe to Parkett.
We note with delight that such close collaboration with so many exceptional artists has been a source of exciting and enduring inspiration. The Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris has called Parkett one of the best publications on contemporary art available today and the Museum of Modern Art in New York among other institutions around the world will present the complete set of all artists editions in a special exhibition.
To become a Parkett subscriber or collector, to find out-of-print issues or editions, or for comments or suggestions, contact us by e-mail, fax, mail or phone at our offices in New York and Zurich. Or visit our new viewing rooms, open by appointment in both cities. For further general information please check introducing Parkett.
In the meantime we are very much looking forward to seeing you or hearing from you and wish you an inspiring preview of the Parkett Library and Museum.
